Tennis Camps – Half Terms and School Holidays

About the tennis camps

whackit tennisOur fun tennis camps run for 5 days, are suitable for all abilities and you can choose to attend the odd day or come all week. For those children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 it runs until 12.30 daily. For those in Year 3-6 you can choose either half day or full day ending at 3pm.

A typical day will be very active starting with a vigorous warm up then some simple exercises designed to improve their ABC’S (agility, balance, coordination, speed).

The children will then be split into ability groups to work various aspects of the game. Here we teach them correct grips, stroke mechanics, rules and simple tactics in order to play a game. We have literally hundreds of challenges and tennis adapted games for all ages, to keep them fully engaged and motivated to learn and have fun.

There are quizzes, invasion games and a multisport session to vary the days activities, so its not all tennis, all day.

Stickers, prizes and certificates are awarded at the end of the course.

This is the number one priority of the tennis camps. We ensure your child’s safety in the following ways:

  •  We have coach training before the camps to ensure that the coaches are aware of all the main safety issues
  • Coaches are CRB checked and have first aid
  • We have a signing in/out process and other systems to ensure each child is accounted for
  • We keep a record of any medical issues and emergency contact details for parents

Age Groups

We see children aged from 5 up to approximately 14 years old. At the beginning of the day, children are split into their age groups and coaches are assigned to each age group. If you have a group of children who are older, let me know as I might be able to put something together for you.

Tennis players of all levels attend our tennis camps, from beginner to advanced. There is something for everyone. As we start to get to know the children, we group them according to their ability.

Coaching Team

The camp is run by  LTA qualified and licensed tennis coach, Gary Ward. In addition to their teaching skills, all the coaches will be friendly, fun, professional and good with children.
